Time Travelers Adventure Club
History tells the story of the human family and God's ever-present love and concern for humankind and for each unique person.
  • Study world history in three 4-year cycles:  In accord with the classical education model, the Blazing Trails Adventure Clubs are organized around a four-year history cycle: so club members will cover the entire history of the world over four years.  The cycle is repeated three times as the children mature, each time in increasing depth.
  • You may register for just 1 or more clubs:  It is not necessary to participate in all the clubs, however, the clubs are designed to work in concert, so that each club heightens the learning that happens in the others.
  • The Time Travelers Adventure Club is our primary club:  As our world history club, the Time Travelers Adventure Club is the spine of the Blazing Trails Adventure Clubs.  This club provides a "worldwide" overview of the time period.  Our other two clubs cover the same time period with a more specific focus.

2010-2011 Time Travelers Adventure Club: high middle ages to the early modern age

Our plan is to delve deep into the mysterious age of castles and kingdoms, princes and princesses.  The stuff of which fairy tales are made!  Then we will explore the historical changes that occurred from the middle ages through the Renaissance.  We use the "immersion" method of history, utilizing costumes, plays, food, readings, games, books, puppets, pictures, crafts, music, and language to get a deeper understanding of the people and times we are studying.  We will use the Story of the World curriculum (unless Vol. 3 of the Connecting with History curriculum is completed in time for our use) supplemented with many good books, Catholic and otherwise.  We also enjoy frequent field trips together!  Registrations are now open!  Contact us to register!
